Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookies are one of my favorite cookies, they are my go-to for holiday baking as well as a special treat.   When I began designing this project, I had lots of ideas as to what my gnome would be holding.   Nothing really seemed to work, consequently there was lots of erasing going on in the design phase.  Then I had that AH-HA moment and thought how about a cookie?   In the initial design stages I was considering developing these for Valentine’s Day but once I had them finished, I soon realized these cute little guys would be great for any holiday or just for every day.  Why not send your love to someone special in the form of a Love Tag, an ornament, or develop a wood plaque to grace your home? 

 

I painted this design on a 6”X6” wood piece but you could also add it to a tag as I’ve shown in the pattern.  I hope you can see how versatile this project will be and can be adapted to any surface you have in your stash.  I’m a fan of adding paper to my projects whether it is book paper or the addition of my gel prints.  I’ve utilized both in this project and feel that it adds interest to the piece but if you aren’t a lover of using paper on your projects you should feel free to use the alternate painting instructions for both the cookie and the Love Banner.  Instead of using gel prints the addition of stenciling would mimic the look nicely.  

I have included in the project a link to a video showing how to prep the surface with paper, paint, and the stamp.
