I definitely wanted to find a new surface that would be light enough to hang on the tree, look festive, could be used as either an ornament or used year after year, and a fun way to give the gift of money. I started looking around for a source of tags which fit the criteria I had determined was important for this project and any future projects to come. Believe me I have more ideas for these tags. I figured out that watercolor paper worked the best and it needed to be either 140# or even 300# if it was available. However 300# paper tends to be more expensive so I figured out a solution to that problem. These adorable Santa's are painted on tags with acrylic paint that you cut yourself out of 140# watercolor paper and have all of the instruction for painting and putting them together. I think they are going to be a real hit at Christmas time. Yes, I have added a small amount of paper but you can always eliminate the paper if you prefer.
